MAMA Mia, Mother's Day!

20/4/2018

Mother's day is May 13... that's just over three weeks away!

I rarely get to spend Mother's Day with my mom since I left home in 2007. I do love shopping for her though, and I always put a lot of thought into my gifts.

I've accumulated a few gift ideas for all the special women in your life. These can be gifts from you, hubby or the kids. They are practical, simple and won't burn a hole in your wallet.

Let's dive in. Click right to scroll though the slideshow, and click photo to be taken to the corresponding website.

Mayde Handmade Organic Tea
I discovered Mayde tea at Bliss Float in Bulimba a few months ago. Bliss Float is Brisbane's premier holistic spa and they serve a wide variety of Mayde tea in their gorgeous lounge.

Does your mum need something fly to drink it out of? Check out their cool Kinfolk & Co Mugs.

ADDED TIP: If you head to their website and sign up for their newsletter, you'll get 10% of your first order!
ADDED TIP: You can also buy these cute (boxes pictured above) or the 1L (120 serves) glass jars of Mayde tea from Bliss Float in Bulimba, QLD. While you're grabbing a tea, why not a gift voucher for a float as well? 60 minutes of float therapy is a great way to help your mum relax and unwind.. the epitome of self care.

Practice You Journal
Who doesn't love mindfulness? Who doesn't love a brand new journal (how good is that fresh paper smell?)
Sometimes we all need that little bit of guidance to help us carve out our "me time" as mamas and this Practice You journal is a great way to do just that.

Wheatbag Love: Wheat Bags and Eye Pillows/Masks
WBL was founded in 2014 by Kim Stark, and the company is run from Northcote, Melbourne. Their products are 100% natural, handmade and beautiful! The designs alone are enough to make you swoon. WBL only use natural and organic materials that are biodegradable (gotta love an eco-friendly company)!

Hate waste? So do they! Wheatbag Love hand cuts each item to reduce waste, and they donate the scrap offcuts to a refugee center where women are using them to make quilts. I mean... come on. These guys are awesome.

DISCLOSURE: I already got my Mom a Wheatbag Love eye mask from Biome as part of her Christmas present last year. Mom uses it every single day and still raves about how much she loves it and how well it is made.

The Bee and the Fox Clothing
Wouldn't this be such a great gift for a new mama? Who doesn't want to match their little chubby bubby? The Bee and the Fox have all kinds of cute tees to check out.

ADDED TIP: You'll get 10% off your first order

Loco Love Chocolate
I first tried these beauties at Miss Bliss in Brisbane. They nearly knocked my socks off, I tell ya. I had forgotten about them until I had a glorious facial at Kindred, where I was presented with a Loco Love and a cuppa tea after my treatment. You can buy their cute, pink gift boxes (which are more like a work of art really). Artisan chocolates are always a nice way to say I love you in my humble opinion.

ADDED TIP: You'll get free shipping over $100 to anywhere in Australia

S'well Reusable Water Bottle
S'well bottles are fantastic because they help eliminate plastic bottles, they're better for the environment and they work a treat. These little guys will keep hot beverages hot for 12 hours and cold drinks cold for 24 hours! I already blogged about them because I was so impressed with their mission and the quality of their products. These on the go bottles would make a great gift for the busy mum, especially a breastfeeding mama trying to keep her fluids up!

ADDED TIP: S'well are running a limited edition Earth Day bottle that is super cute, painted with Icelandic poppies. This bottle is part of the Million Bottle Project which is an initiative to displace 100 million plastic bottles from landing in landfills, waterways or the ocean by 2020.

Rose Quartz Gua Sha

I've been using mine for just over a month now and my skin has dramatically improved. My mom even commented on how good my skin was looking during one of our recent FaceTime chats. If you've never heard of these beauties you can learn more about them by clicking here. You can purchase a rose quartz in person at Kindred or on their online store.

ADDED TIP: I chose to purchase mine from Nat (owner of Kindred) because hers are certified authentic rose quartz, so you can be sure it isn't fake.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mamas, soon to be Mamas, and hoping to be Mamas.
