Connect. Collaborate. Create.

Minding Her Business is a force to be reckoned with in Australia.

MHB launched just 6 months ago and has boasted 3 successful events already. Two were hosted in Brisbane, and on Sunday they wrapped up an event at Cocoon Lounge in the Gold Coast. The number of attendees has doubled in that short time, and it's no wonder with Katie Stevens and Danielle Byrnes at the helm.

These ladies have pioneered the women's empowerment movement on a whole new level Down Under. Female empowerment has been trending for quite some time now, but the notion of getting these driven gals in the same space with the intent to learn, grow and mingle was initiated by these two ambitious ladies.

What's it all about?
MHB is all about building the #mhbtribe in Australia. Their motto is connect, collaborate, create. The events provide a chic environment for women to link up face to face in order to build their brands, network and possibly kick-start potential collaborations.

The events are comprised of two key components. The first is the mixer where girls are encouraged to strike up conversations with other women looking to learn or take the next step towards a new goal. The second is knowledge based where an "empowerment panel" shares their tips for success and give advice.

At this Sunday's event we heard from three main speakers, as well as an added bonus guest, Renne Slansky:

1. Jess Ruhfus from Collabosaurus

2. Leanne Ward, nutritionist and sports dietitian.

3. Liz Cantor, Channel 7 presenter

4. Renne Slansky from We Date Australia  (had the floor on her own for 5 minutes to discuss relationships, dating and the future of human connections).

Katie Stevens led an open panel discussion with the three main speakers. Her guiding questions sparked the conversation naturally and we were able to learn about the value of our time, taking risks, and being authentic as women and business owners.

One of my favourite tips was delivered by Leanne Ward -  "You need to make sure you look after yourself first because you can't pour from an empty cup." I'm pretty sure I have pinned this on Pinterest before, but it was a great reminder and had different context in terms of running a business.

After the ladies spoke, there was time for some Q&A. I had the pleasure of meeting two of the speakers personally after the panel. Where else would I able to brush shoulders with women such as these?!?

I'm so grateful to have attended this special event, and I can't wait to see where MHB will be in 6 months or even a year.
